Celebrating Black History Month!

February is Black History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the rich heritage, achievements, and contributions of Black Americans, Iowans, and North Libertarians, to society.

The history of Black Americans is integral to the fabric of our diverse society, and acknowledging their struggles, triumphs, and cultural impact is essential for fostering understanding, unity, and respect among us all.

The Anti-Racism and Social Justice group envisions North Liberty to be a community where every person thrives, belongs, and is celebrated. Black History Month moves us towards that vision by providing an opportunity for reflection on the ongoing journey toward a more just and equitable society and by encouraging dialogue on how we can work together to eliminate discrimination and foster an environment of acceptance.
