Flock 101 Recording and Next Steps

Lt. Rueben Ross of the North Liberty Police Department presented Flock 101, an information session about the department’s use of Flock Safety cameras, on Sept. 24, 2026. The two-hour presentation is available for viewing...on YouTube. The slides are available as a PDF.

As announced at that session, Mayor Chris Hoffman will add an opportunity for the City Council to discuss, and possibly take action on, the City’s use of Flock Safety cameras to the agenda of its next meeting. That meeting is scheduled for Oct. 13, 2026, at 6 p.m. in the North Liberty City Council Chambers at City Hall, 360 N. Main St. The item will offer an opportunity for public comment.

Read more, including Flock policy changes the City has made since the September 24th public meeting, at https://northlibertyiowa.gov/flock-101-and-next-steps/.

Residents of North Liberty have started a petition to stop usage of and remove Flock cameras in North Liberty. The petition is available here.

Also at the October 13th City Council Meeting...

Mayor Chris Hoffman will retroactively proclaim September 15-October 15 to be Hispanic Heritage Month in North Liberty.

Thanks to North Libertarian Diego Pulido, pictured third-from-right above, for authoring this year's proclamation! Group members are invited to attend the City Council meeting in support of the proclamation. Let us know if you'll be there.

"No-Jail" News Conference - This Friday

ARSJNL members are invited to attend and show support!
